Taking things slowly

After much thought bought the 10 inch skillet. My decision was assisted by a friend who only has cast iron frying pans, her daughter pinched one when she left for university as cannot get on with non stick type. The first thing I noticed was it sits perfectly on the hob, no rocking. Bought a silicon handle protector as recommended by the folk at Emba. Heated the pan and added the oil/butter before adding the food. So far sausages, salmon and a fried egg, all excellent and no sticking. As it has great heat retention you can turn off the gas and carry on cooking. A little water while still warm and wipe out has been all that’s needed so far. Now eyeing up the griddle.

Emba 10 inch pan.

Great little pan.
Have only been cooking pork chops on it at the moment as they have some fat which is recommended for using pan when new.
They cook the chops brilliantly.
I would recommend the Emba skillet certainly.
I also like the idea that cast iron was used by previous generations in the past and lasted forever.
